This video is packed full of amazing detail on how to fish a weedless swimbait. I go Bass Fishing down in the Grass of Florida and use a video I found on Bass University TV by JT Kenney to teach you how to do it.

Anyone know how that punch skirt Gene mentioned gets rigged? Does it go on the line ahead of the hook or on the hook? If just on line wouldn't it go flying around on a cast?
I notice that these bait look and act similar to a solid body toad bait. Would they be comparable? Are they fished similarly?
Would this work well for bank fishing?
His videos teach me a lot about fishing.
What would be the difference between using punch skirt with the swimbait vs. using the swimbait as a trailer on a swim jig? Is it simply that it’s more weedless or is there any difference in action?
Sprinker Frog
What is the brand of that hoodie?
Like the NRS gear, good stuff.
What color big easy were you using?
@Flukemaster #Flukemaster
If you use ZMAN paddlerz super glue won't be needed. Poke a hole with the hook then screw the hook on. You might use only one maybe two baits for the day maybe week. Paddle tails BY ZMAN WORKS BETTER AS QUALITY OF THE PRODUCT. Razor SHADZ Are awsome!!! That bigger profile to a chatterbait or use it solo on one video. Have fun Gene!!!!
2 days ago here in Illinois I had a text book day using a fluke in watermelon magic color with a belly weighted swimbait hook. I fished for 3 hours, stopped counting after 20 bass… best 5 would have been a 15+ pound bag. Wind pushing into a south facing bank in the north end of the lake next to a feeder creek after a heavy rain! Classic late winter pattern! Great start to 2018
pretty much banjo minnow!
yup,you cannot fish a whopper plopper there because of the treble hooks gettin hung up,but you can as you said fish a weedless whopper plopper there, which is a frog and a whopper plopper combined, called a Teckel sprinker frog, also recently they came out with a fish head spin, chatterbait combo called a fish head primal vibe.Happy Fishin
Great tips Gene
Love Bass University and The Flukemaster. Good info man.
Always enjoy your fishing tips, thanks.
Noticed you were in the new Bonified SS127; that kayak is amazing! Really suprized me how well it tracked with the pontoon sytle hull. I just bought one, getting it rigged-out, intalled flush mount rod holders behind seat.
Fluke I'd like you to come fish with me at a few of the hidden inner city lakes and Minnetonka and maybe even mille lacs!
I have a lake near me that has deep hydrilla that comes up and stops about 6 inches before the surface. Could you use this method with a heavier weighted hook to cover deeper? Or is there a more efficient method to fish this kind of cover? Thanks
Fluke, great video! Quick question, what hook is that? all the swimbait hooks I find have a larger weight on them. Thanks man, keep the vids coming!
Hey Gene, would it make a difference without a hitchhiker? Could you just Texas rig it, why or why not?
Thanks for the video — this is one presentation I have not quite gotten the hang of, yet.
Great video Gene! I recently got back into fishing swimbaits and I have been crushing them!!
Wam,wam,bam, whoooooo
WOW! You mentioned Pennsyvania. Where did you fish in PA?
get that silly mask off your face. 95% of skin damage from the sun is done before you hit 30. Your muffled voice makes the video too hard to watch. I don't think you would bend light wired hooks on 50 lb braid if you didn't swing for the fences, at least I don't. I wish I was in Florida right now. The KY bass just haven't turned on yet.
Hey Gene where in Florida you fishing?
I really enjoy this style of video brother!! It’s the perfect blend of throwback to you old and golden tips videos and new video editing quality. Thanks again for all you do! Nice to see you slaying some hogs!
How are you liking the new bonafied? I’m going to purchase my first yak in the next few months and thinking about going bonafied. Do you think it’s too much for a first yak? I’m a pretty avid angler and it just seems like the dream platform for storage capacity, stability and customization. Any advice?
Gene…is that a SS127? Blasphemy!
Another thing when the hitchhiker won't go back into the tip is to just bite the tip off..Saves me a lot of money and the action is basically the same.
We can not see where you are casting your witless bait.
Would you say fish relate to grass the same in ponds as they do in lakes? I have a pond behind my house that grows 2-3 big, thick grass beds in the summer towards the shallow end of it. The ponds only about 10-12 feet deep at its deepest point and it does not have a lot of structure at that point for the fish to relate to. Should I focusing on flipping and using swim baits in these mats? (maybe even punching since they’re so thick). Like I’ve said the pond is right behind my house so I’ve fished it my whole life and I always struggle to find the fish in the summer so I was curious if you thought the bass would relate to that grass as much in a pond as they would a lake?
I caught my personal best on a weedless Keitech paddle tail on a keel weighted hook. One of my favorite ways to fish.

Hey fluke, gonna be going to lake chickamauga next week for an amateur tournament. Probably gonna be using the swimbait a good bit. Any tips for this time of year. Thx
love all the tips of your videos
Great video. I can tell you got your head screwed on right with that rig. I use something similar, but I will give yours a go. I will omit the super glue…had so many mishaps with it, my left eye starts twitching when I see some. 🙂
Great video Gene, I love using swimbaits, you just gave me a new way to rig em up and try it out, always learning something from your vids to try and get better !!
Madison Wisconsin this weekend? Hoping to run into you and Chad Hoover to thank you guys for all the great content!
Hey Gene! Great video and good fish! The glue technic is a very good idea, i've never thought to use glue to fish more time with the same lure. As always a great job!
Great video #flukemaster…. looks like your enjoying your new bonafide in top gun color🤙🎣
I love fishing a swimbait or even a fluke on a keel waited hook. One of my favorite techiniques
The background music is a little much and takes away from from the video. Thanks for the tips though!
Awesome video Gene! Always look forward to your content. Would you use this a lot in the summertime? Just looking for more techniques up here in Minnesota! Thanks!
Just picked me up some big ez gamblers…black with blue flake and phantom
Another awesome video!
Another good video brother. When are we going to see you back on Carters lake?? Teach us the float and fly
What brand and weight hook are you using in this video?
