These are the best baits for river bass fishing! Bass fishing in rivers and creeks can be an awesome way to catch a ton of bass! You might never catch giant fishing river bass fishing but you can have a day catching numbers of bass and it is usually pretty easy! Most of river bass fishing comes down to your bait selection. Current and forage are two main factors that determine the bait you should be using and while there are a few options for river bass fishing I like to keep it pretty simple with the baits from this video!

I grew up in Pittsburgh and I live in homestead there鈥檚 a little spot called duck hollow I鈥檓 trying to practice at because I鈥檓 a bastard child who is trying to teach himself fishing for the first time . I鈥檓 gonna use ur lures with my 20 spinning medium fast action ugly stick with braid . Yes it鈥檚 my first times really fishing but I鈥檓 trying to start out with braid and leaders on my spinning real I just got everything I need so I鈥檓 stoked to go try everything out !
Swimbait – Big Joshy 2.75 minnow works and looks very similar!
What do you think is the best lure to go with on the Mississippi River fishing from the bank ??
Upper Mississippi River La crosse Wisconsin
I am a riverbank fisherman here in Fredericton New Brunswick Canada. I fish the Nashwaak river here in Fredericton. We have the Saint John River with the Nashwaak River flows into the Saint John River. I use softbaits to top water baits. Saint John River is tidal water up to Fredericton from the Bay of Fundy to the south of New Brunswick
Hey Nathan good video! I鈥檝e used a lot of these tricks fishing the Ohio river which is all of 10 minutes from my house. Some of your other videos you posted you talked about the tournaments circuits you were fishing. Was wondering if you could make one breaking down how to go about getting into these like the BFL And others? Who to contact, entry fees and things like that.
PITTSBURGH GANG
Another comment/question, but the smaller rigs that have a spinner on them the ones that are bent, I've always wondered how they're supposed to be attached to the line. Do you just tie it to it, or can you use a small barrel swivel to attach to the line and the line up the shaft and onto the bend? I thought for sure that I came up with a brilliant idea, but even the littlest barrel swivel I could get away with, for some reason it fell down one of the sides and then the line was getting stuck around it and then actually around the lure so it wasn't working right. I don't understand why it wouldn't work, but it just didn't. If you or one of your subscribers could answer that question, which one is best or if there is actually a better way to do it than that, I would be greatly interested to know. Keep pumping out these instructional videos, for newbies like myself, God bless!
What about largemouth bass in the St Johns River in Florida? Do some of those lures that you use up north in rivers work the same for down south? And I'm totally into you doing pond videos, that seems to be where I'm catching the most fish, and big ones! I just know it's a little hotter down here.
Great video & tips!!! So it's true as I have heard use small baits on the rivers. Been fishing on the Three Rivers for a few years. Most fish caught on the Ned Rig, On the Ned Rig what weigh do you use. Rigged my nephew up on the Zoom Dead Ringer June bug and he's been crushing the Smallies. Will be on the Mon near Fredericktown next week. Will have to change up on some rigs. Stay Safe & God Bless!!
Mon River must have!!!!
wanted to see what size hook you use for the 4in senko and flush
Thank You for your information,
Even when fishing from a boat I like to have a rod set up with a small silver popper that I can go to quickly
I've had luck catching smallmouth's throwing a floating Rapala minnow color with a black back, Rooster tail 1/6 ounce white or green & orange. Nice tips useing a spinnerbait, crankbaits I'll try that. Yes, a pond video please.
Thanks Nathan, you mentioned the Susquehanna that's wiggle wart territory in the Md section.
I also love making fishing videos and am just getting started and love watching your videos!! 馃馃
It must be nice to have flowing rivers to fish in.
Yes on the pond video Nathan. This video was great.
Man I love your Channel!!
A few things I鈥檇 add to the must have river fishing baits are a finesse jig, a jerkbait, and add a hellgrammite soft plastic to throw on that Ned head also.
My go to is a speed worm on a shaky head
