Ned Rig Fishing For Big Bass

Finesse fishing doesn’t always equal big bass but the Ned Rig is special. When the bite gets tough and you’re faced with changing conditions it is a great way to upsize your catch! On this day we started with swimbaits and crankbaits but ended up getting all the big ones on light tackle.

The ned rig is a great option when conditions aren’t ideal. We were using two different versions of the bait to catch our fish. Tim was using the Roboworm offering while Matt was using the traditional Z-Man TRD.

  1. I've been on the hunt for a video like this for a long time! I live here in the PNW and love to see pros tear up my water! 🤘great info guys. Thank you

  2. Just retired and jumping back into bass fishing after a LONG absence. I think that your videos are the best out there. Wife and I are getting 2 Hobie PA 14' s to pull behind the small motorhome and fish Texas for starters. Look forward to each new video.

  3. Thank you. Just wish you could describe what you are doing, changes you are making to create angling success in this new fishery.
Most of my fishing is in new fisheries sine I am a new angler.

  4. The ned rig really does get it done. Yesterday I was out and casted a lot of baits (craws, topwater, crankbait, chatterbait) and was getting skunked for about an hour. I only had like 3 small bites that whole time, so I decided to try the ned rig and in about 45 minutes I nailed roughly 15 fish. A truly remarkable yet simple bait.

  5. I’m truly thinking of looking into that striper guide Matt’s gone out with my bday is next month in Oct last year was my worst bday ever maybe my 30 will be my best ever lol I know it not going to be cheap but ima try and use whatever I get and throw some more at it I know it’s gotta be multiple hundreds of dollars I’m assuming but if I can find the area hehe where that guy is catching those striper it’s well worth it hahha yea I’m excited 😜 and of course pull a 30 plus lber would be soooooo awesome maybe more

  6. Hey that bow snap really does work sometimes especially on rocks etc I’ve gotten a lot more snags loose trick is not to yank them in real deep when you realized you are snagged just teachin you guys a thing or two lol 😂

  7. 🔥MATT OR TIME PLEASE ANSWER🔥I’m confused and I know I’m dumb but you said the water temp was 59 so it should be a Spawn Pre Spawn type deal for smallies??? So did you just mean in terms of water temp or they will be getting ready to spawn due to water temp?

  8. Those were some pretty Smallies! I have the tackle to throw the Ned Rig. I just need the lake to do it, lol. Maybe I will try it next time I head to Falls or Jordan Lake.

  9. Are you guys matching braided line diameter size to the leaders? Or does it make a difference if the leader diameter is a bit bigger than the main line. Thanks!

  10. +Tacticalbassin That little TRD really is something lol, great video fellas. Question…I've been using braid to fluro leaders on my spinning gear for a while but my issue is the knot between the two breaks when I reel it through the rod eyes… usually FG knot but switched to blood knot (held up longer and WAY smaller than FG) but it still broke on a hookset today 🤯. Any suggestions? Thank you!

  11. Hey guys, u have a really informative channel. I appreciate ur channel and subscribed. Maybe u have covered my request in another video, if so let me know title and ill look for it.

What i would like to know, since im new to trying ned rig, is what kind of retrieve do you use on catching these bass using the ned rig?
