FALL BASS FISHING (JERKBAIT!!!) Lucky Craft Pointer 78

The Fall bass fishing continues to challenge us, but covering a ton of water keeps the skunk out of the boat!!! Fall bass fishing definitely require a lot of running around to find active fish and with the water temps. now at around 60 degrees, a Luckcraft pointer 78 suspending jerkbait came out to play! Fall bass fishing with a suspending jerkbait is one of the best way cover water and get those suspending bass to bite…

  1. I like jerkbaits, but in my experience, they're dink magnets. Caught tons that were barely bigger than the lure, biggest fish I ever caught on one was only about 3 pounds.

  2. I fish VERY similar rods to you. I really enjoy the custom speed stick series, but I use all Daiwa SV casting reels and Shimano spinning. I bought the 6'8" Topwater special (says jerkbaits on it too) for jerkbaits though. I like the faster tip for working jerkbaits a tad quicker and it is rated as a ML so it is still soft enough to keep them pinned. I also use a 7'Medium mod.fast (wart special) with an SS/SV for small cranks and jerkbaits. 12lb fluoro on both.

  3. Cornell, excellent vid. Love the info. I've been skunked the last three times out in the past week. Time to get out the jerkbaits and put the jigs away for a while. Going to go fineness the next time out. Unfortunately, it's getting COLD out there.

  4. pretty cool you did a jerkbait video I just went to maine last week and was fishing in 40° water highest it got was 42° and using a combination of lucky craft pointer 100 sp and vision 110+1 by megabass I caught probably 10 or so fish even a couple 4 lbers. the only difference was i was reeling them down and very slowly reeling them in with long pauses and they were loving it. my uncle caught 6 or 7 on a husky jerk and my cousin got a few on a crankbait. the only other bait I could get any interest with was the ned rig around rocks.

  5. Sometimes I have a hard time judging distance when a GoPro is used. It always looks like people are out in the middle of the lake but I have more luck much closer to shore. How far off the bank are you usually?

  6. I'm a new sub and new to fishing in general. Love how you are thorough about explaining why you do things the way you do. Would MTB be a good way to get lures when I'm sure which lures to get? Thank you and love your boat!

  7. Another great video! Thank you for the great tips. Question for you….. can you recommend a rod & reel (spinning) combo for a beginner bass fisherwoman? I'm on a $150-$175 budget. I fish a lot of salt flats, but want to have a combo set up just for freshwater / bass kayak fishing. I currently use a Penn Conflict 1000 with a 5' uglystik GX2 ultralight rod. I'm finding that I have a hard time setting the hook with that rod & reel. Even harder to set when I'm seated in the kayak. Really enjoy your videos and value your opinion. Thanks!

  8. I'm new to your channel but have to say you have good info. in your videos. I haven't watched them all yet but the ones I have are good & I'm sure the others are also. It's nice to have a big bass boat & not criticizing on the ones that do but watching what you use goes to show younger audience that as long as you have something that can float, has room for gear & place to fish from you can catch nice bass.
