I was born and raised in Chicago, but after working 12 years in the financial Industry regulating the futures and options markets at the CME/CBOT I decided to pursue my passion fishing professional tournaments and left my full time corporate job. Too many variables to make an informed bet
No doubt or the way they do nascar. Groups of four Anglers and you pick who do you think will finish the best out of those four. As well as individual odds. Over under weight limits. Over under how many people get skunked I mean there are literally a thousand and one ways that they can make odds for fishing
That would be excellent! And with the boom of online Sports books it's amazing they haven't broke into fishing yet. Plus it would bring some much-needed money to the sport through a partnership. And yes now that NFL is over I find myself wishing there was something that I enjoy. I mean I only weighed your small amounts just to as you said have something to do past the time plus it helps you get more involved in a sport that you love

🍺Easiest question ever🤑. Yes I agree it would be great to have legal angling wagers but I’m not convinced it would drastically increase actual angling viewing but it certainly would help some 🤠. Gambling has invited at times the potential for cheating and or pay offs for athletes for “ throwing” the games and or their performance but I don’t think that’s easily done in fishing for numerous obvious reasons.
A really sound idea Matt, somebody ought to run with it.

The whole tournament industry needs to be classified as gambling. Regulation would rain in theses tournament organizers to have rules and standards. Matt promoting gambling on your channel is across the line. Think of the youngsters that follow you not a good look.
I've said this from the beginning when MLF started, and they said they were trying to make it a sport for fans to watch. To be a legitimate sport, it would need gambling, but when this happens, the mafia is in control.
Right now absolutely not. Once they get stuff straightened out yes. I personally seen on BASS Live a guy snag a bass on FFS and weigh it.
I heard a lot of people that watch the tournament are complaining about it because of the live scoping. They're saying it's boring because everyone's just staring at a screen. So if that is what's happening u think people are still going to watch it when they see people staring at a screen. I'm asking I don't watch it, it's what I've heard. Do you think it will discourage new people from watching???
Fully agree. I can't think of a better way to bring non-endemic eyes, and therefore money, to bass fishing.

MLF has made the odds of winning much harder with the fantasy teams, I bet you no one has won, but I see your point & it's probably happening on a none public way, so let it happen, do you play the lottery?👍🎣

That may be the only way anglers can make money.
Doubt it would happen without serious regulations. Gambling, inherently, bring more cheating, either anglers cheating or getting paid to lose. Most anglers don’t make anywhere near enough money to prevent payoffs and cheating by gamblers.
It will corrupt tournament fishing.

I vote CRAZY! Love your fishing content and all of your hard work in delivering tips and techniques. Thank you for that, you make us all better fishermen! New to the sport gamblers would watch 5 minutes of chubby men's backsides hunched over livescopes and never bet or watch again. Game over.

Don't see it happening UNLESS there's a merger and there's only one Pro Bass Fishing Organization. Also Vegas odds makers are not going to handicap fishing tournaments until there are a definite set of rules and regulations. In other words, every competitor is using the same stuff.
