Understanding where you are is a good start. We all have bad days. It's all about what you do with what you've learned. Go "fun fishing". Remember why you love the sport, why you're drawn to it and trust God. He'll help you through this. 🙏
when I lose confidence in a confidence bait, I pretend I'm teaching someone who has never fished, exactly what I do… the speed I'm turning the reel handle (quantify it… 1 revolution every 3 seconds or whatever you use) where I expect the bite (as bait is falling or just as I lift off bottom), what a subtle bite is going to feel like, and when I set the hook.. its the fastest way I know how to get my confidence back and usually it is because I have been fishing too fast. Only takes one bite where you expect it to get things back on track.
FFS needs to be removed from competition. Pros need to be able to be pros. Experience. Knowledge. Being able to pattern a lake. Variety of lure skills. These have all been removed as a necessity to be a pro. It’s like the PGA Tour… every pro is a great ball striker from tee to green. It’s putting the ball great for four days that makes the difference. It’s why laser slope and laser levelers are banned in competition. Heck they even banned pre-made green reading books. It’s so that experience, knowledge, practice rounds, hard work and the talent ability to read the green, in the moment really matters.
Don’t look at this as a nightmare look at it as a learning experience. Lee your head up and rock on

Stop wining and learn to use live scope. It is not going away. Clung was great but his time has come and gone.
In the past when I've been in a slump, I pick a lake I love to fish, and just go wack on them for a while. Piercing some lips helps me get back into the swing of things and helps me shake it off and get my confidence back.
Do I really need to tell you again that you are GOING to have a pretty good year. Chin up, Mr. and go to War. Bring out those Missle's and kick some bass.

No one is on "all day, every day" John. Doesn't matter the industry. * First off, this sport needs to get rid of FFS. It's like these "pro's" have put all their efforts into pressing buttons, or staring at screens, and have literally forgotten how to fish with pure skill, and instinct*. That aside, just step away from it, and concentrate on anything other than fishing for a while. As long as you financially can. The worst thing you could do is "press", or try and force a result. Just step away…
I can't stand FF sonar .. but on a side note, drive to Lake Anna right now. Go on the hot side, put on a green pumpkin magic quiver worm on a shakey head, and hold on .. while you are there, you can practice FF sonar as well ..

Nightmare… no. Bad start… ya ok… but you learned and now have fuel to drive you do better. Your kids play sports, mine do as well… I even coach soccer… we teach our kids that you need to learn. You can’t run without first walk… tripping… crawling.
You now have a start point and you’ve openly told yourself and others you will do better and just do your thing. Drive and practice will make you better.

I just want to say ffs sucks it's the most boring thing to watch it sucks for us to love watching bass fisherman it's worse than watching paint dry this the most despicable thing and fishing I've ever seen I hate it I wish you'd never came I wish it would go away and I hope they ban it from tournaments just to make everybody on the same playing field and let's see knowledge do what it does and then we'll see who's the better bass fisherman
This might not be the place but I'd like to spread this idea. In golf, the pros can use a rangefinder in practice but not in the tournament. This seems like the compromise that livescope would be. Use it to practice only.
Your baits that u design will win any tourney anywhere. Them old school cranks these fish havrnt seen in a min . That is what I catch so many fish on behind other anglers. That's my confidence . A #4 rs shadrap. Yes small but catches hogs year round for me. And I throw it on a casting rod. Old green curado and a Pete lesniak cranking rod .
Keep your head up man, keep grinding and it will work out! I actually saw you out on the water on Thursday on Fork, you were across the cove from a spot I was fishing.

Its not fishing now its hunting.. i like the new format its actually funner to watch . I noticed the same thing locally. I came back to fishing and I'm getting beat by guys. I used to beat all the time. It's because they have f. F. S
