Wisconsin River smallmouth are liking the top water baits this time of year. Lakes can be tough to during the dog says of summer but the river bass are very active. You can catch them from shore or boat. Give it a try.

Is this a safe stretch of the river to launch a boat in? I just moved to the area and have a 16 foot alumacraft. Looking forward to chasing some smallies and muskies this year

How deep is the water in that stretch? Was just up in the area today below the spillway and other spots and did not do well. No access to boat though.
