My first Tournament was almost my Last

With my son Scott’s record BASS invitational win this week on Lake Okeechobee, I got to thinking about my early years on the tournament trail. The first tournament I ever fished was January 1970 on Toledo Bend reservoir on the Texas- Louisiana border. Some crazy things happened and I nearly gave up tournament fishing.
