Gold does work in Florida. Gold and a C7 Corvette or a 911 Targa or a GT-40 have always been a favorite in South Beach to catch a 125 pound spinner. Throw in a Rolex Mariner and you'll have the right combination.
But remember to be careful, Florida-man is liable to show up anywhere. And the invasive species of hybrid New York, New Jersey and Boston Bassholes are showing up everywhere.

I have had more luck on war eagle spinner baits than any other brand.
I like and use this bait , I understand the extension of metal behind the head balances
this lure . But in saying so I wish
They would of designed a bait
Keeper into that balance piece.
Not much room to glue on a trailer bait other than a curly grub
