Here’s how to rig a soft plastic worm, or lure, straight for Bass fishing. In this how to video, I’ll show you how to rig a few different plastic worms on both an extra wide gap offset hook, and a straight shank / flipping hook. Aside from the arch, I like to rig with a fluke (soft plastic jerk bait), I usually want my plastic worms, craws, senkos, and other creature baits to sit on the hook as straight as possible while still remaining relatively weedless. Learning how to rig a soft plastic worm the right way can greatly improve the action, performance, and even your hookup ratio when fishing for Bass.

Good thing you have so much free time to smoke crack and drink.
Seems like fishing is only an excuse to be alone and use drugs.
Yup, just how I do mine.
Man, you are NO BS!! I didn't here DUUUDE! One time and I gained in knowlege! Resut? A thank you & a sub!! Lookin forard to more!
Very good hands on illustration. Thanks!
Chuck do you use creatures on EWG hooks ever or just on straight shank?
Great! Thank you
i like the instructional videos better than watching you catch 20 fish. Now I know how to get the worm straight. Thank you.
Thanks for the video-great info.-just starting my channel-have a couple of worming videos-check them out if you geta chance
Our points leader in our bass club fishes exclusively a Wacky Worm (with a Octopus Hook) on neon green 30 lb. braid (from Academy) in every Central Florida Lake. He fishes it on a spinning reel with NO leader. He out fishes all of us. I don't think Florida Strain Bass give a crap about our fishing line visibility !!!
Hey Chuck. Thanks again for making this video. I bought some of the hooks you mentioned In the video, and now, I'm catching more bass, and going through a lot less flukes. I've been telling everybody that I talk to about your channel, especially people with kids. Yesterday, a lady thanked me for telling her about your channel, because after her 8 year old son started watching your videos, he said that now, he wants to be a guide just like Mr. Pippin in the videos.👍😃
You r awsome please keep one posting
im going to be in florida the week after fathers day sure would like to go out on one of your guide trips
Do you use a barrel swivel with flukes to avoid line twist?
Another awesome video. Very informative.
Chuck – what kind or size bobber-stop do use on worms? At the beginning of the video, I saw one on your line but you didn't discuss it. I've heard that it helps when going through heavy weeds (less to catch on). Do you agree that it helps?
Thanks for the info.
Thanks Chuck!
I remember the other video when you showed the correct way to rig the fluke and it was a game changer for me. Only thing I do a little different is I like to use Gamagatsu 3/00 offsets with the tiny weight attached to the hook shank. It just helps it sink a touch faster because I have such a hard time dead-sticking it like you do. Impatience I guess…lol.
But thanks for the video and don't be scared to do more of these. Rigging and bait presentation techniques are something we all could probably benefit from.
Great video to remind people how to correctly do some of the simplest things. With all the information Concerning a wide variety of aspects to bass fishing, sometimes we forget just the basics.
Really helpful, thanks.
Wasn't sure I wanted to watch because "EVERYBODY" knows how to rig a soft plastic. Well, once again you had something in your video that I hadn't thought of (hiding the knot for protection). Good job and thanks!
Great info Chuck
Really good video Chuck, great rigging info.
Million dollar question, how to get the soft plastic smell off your hands after touching them. Windex works OK for getting fish smells off.
Nice. Now I understand why I sometimes struggle getting the bait on the hook straight.
Nice video. Keep looking for you at toho
Nice instructional video very informative good job
The ten tackle sensei ! Great video 👍
These instructional videos are great, Chuck. I think this is the first time I’ve seen you touch a craw!
Thanks for the good tips Chuck, I lost alot of good fish to the senko balling up in the bend of the hook by rigging incorrectly.🐟👊🏼
