4100 fishermen have signed up.
Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good….however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.
No Z-Man sponsorship for you 🙂
I was thinking the same thing before you got to saying what it was. You can get 3 of the Elites for about the same price.
I can never thank you enough!! I have been a avid bass angler for 40 plus years. I fished local ternaments for 15 years and did well. I wish I had known some of these tricks earlier. THANKS. You have always been one of my favorite pros. Love Denny Bauer also.
The OG chatterbait has a little more of an erratic action. Take the skirt of and add a zako and it goes 🔥
Chocolate Chip cookies are nowhere good as Oatmeal Raisin. I polled people that agree with me, and the polls clearly state that I'm right.
Overated bate i fished them in the same places i fish my plastic worm lizards crawfish jigs not blades old school jigs bullshit it's just another bait for the sheep to follow i catch more bigger fish plastic worm lizards crawfish
Yep … I fish $7 chatterbaits and they still catch bass. You can also buy $500 reels and $600 rods, my $89 rods and $ 120 reels still catch bass …
So rt, marketing at its best, most over rated least catching lure on the market.
Damn pike keep stealing my jack hammers… uugghhh.
I agree 100%.
I’m telling you guys the bend in the blade is in a different place on the Jackhammer and if you take a pair of needle nose straighten it out then bend it exactly where the Jackhammer is bent it really makes a difference, and it will save a bunch of money
I took an original chatterbait and looked at it beside a Jackhammer and the only difference in the blade was where the bend is on the blade, so I took the original and bent the blade exactly where the Jackhammer was bent and the original ran just like the Jackhammer the blade started as quick as the jackhammer blade,I’m not saying everyone will have the same results but for me it worked
Is the rage blade that strike king made for fishing a bladed jig around wood a poor bite producing bait? Or has everyone just forgotten about it? I know sometimes throwing something the bass haven’t seen much if any can sometimes be the deal. Anyone have experience with it?
I used to feel the same way until very recently. I got on a chatterbait bite this fall at my local lake where the fish were all positioned underneath “dollar pad” mats. The only way they’d bite is if I threw the chatterbait about a foot into the pads, got it stuck, and ripped it out. It was almost always at that exact moment that the bait ripped free that I’d get bit. The jackhammer excelled because the blade starts thumping IMMEDIATELY, whereas the original would take a few reel turns for the blade to thump. I had both tied on but the jackhammer blew it out of the water. Sometimes that instantaneous blade engagement makes all the difference.
I like the chatter bait too , but wish they would change the hook on it , I don’t like that silver hook , I take permanent black marker and color it darker
The jack hammer stealth blade so far is the only new “vibrating jig” type lure that has impressed me as of late. I’ve gotten bit on the CA delta on that at times where I couldn’t buy a bite on a normal chatterbait or spinner bait.
Your 100% rt, got caught up in this also, jack hammer to me actually caught less fish then cheaper chatter bait.
The main difference is that it starts vibrating much sooner. That is what gets you the extra bites.
I've been thinking the same thing kinda of like googan plastics just more angler candy so I just make my own craw/creature/swimbait/mouse plastics, jigs, bladed jigs spinner baits ect Now options are endless
I like the Advantage Jawbreaker over the Jack Hammer
Be the last thing id reach for in a tournament that's for sure ! Spinner baits I rarely use and if so the mini spins all I'll carry in box .
How many FLW or BASS tournaments have you won?
Anybody who pays $16 for any lure to catch largemouth bass is a fool.
I am probably the only person in the world that has NOT caught one fish on a chatter bait. Bad news is I even bought a Jack Hammer because I was told they are the best. I’m not giving up on them I now own probably 6 Chatter baits and 1 jack hammer. After watching this video I’m glad I didn’t invest in jack hammer jigs
My most over hyped too expensive bait is the mega bass mag draft. I catch two fish and the magnet falls out of the bait because the material gets ripped up so easily. $15 bait for 2 fish seems steep
I agree fully with this video. The jackhammer is completely overrated and has too much hype. I prefer the standard Zman original or the googan clickbait.
Actually, I agree with you 100%, Randy. I'm waiting for them to live up to the hype. Spinnerbaits actually have come through for me more often the last couple years.
I’ve never caught a fish on any chatterbait. I’ve caught fish on every other presentation I use, but the chatterbait seems to scare every fish within a half mile of me.
I totally agree with you Randy, bed fishing should be band ! To much money involved unfortunately…
Randy Ive got something that costs about $1.50 per lure, and is WAY better than either the original chatterbait or the Jackhammer… I order the components and I make my own! And the secret? I use feathers, bucktail and synthetic flash material. The result is the feathers and bucktail have not been seen by any of the bass, it is 100% totally different look, sound, feel movement etc. from the silicone skirts used by every other guy out there. It gets more bites than you can imagine (Years of fly tying experience paying off!!!) The one big negative of the bait? I feel like bass have an easier time spitting the hook with any chatterbait style lure than many other types of baits. If it were all equal, I would probably much rather hook a bass using a Rapala jerkbait that has 3 good treble hooks straight out of the box than on a chatterbait type of lure, because I have a very good success rate landing those jerkbait fish, even if it is on 6 or 8 pound test, and I can not horse that fish around at all, compared to using 12 pound test with a chatterbait… SO alot of times when I feel like I could be using a chatterbait, I will throw a jerkbait instead and just burn it through an area really fast. Randy I would love to hear your thoughts on this…Thanks for another great video….And yeah, I do agree 1000%- the Jakhammer is a huge waste of money compared to a regular chatterbait! Anytime the masses tell you "You need to throw this particular bait…" It is probably a good cue to avoid that bait!
