Every Bass fisherman who throws a Carolina rig knows you use fluorocarbon line and then tie a mono leader of approximately 3 feet length behind your weight, beads and swivel. Theoretically, the mono line helps to “float” your bait off the bottom as the weight and rattles keep your bait close to the bottom regardless of depth.
