All are over rated soft plastic lures are light years ahead. Even in winter abs plastic no way over priced .

Buddy has fished spy baits in a nc mountain lake absolutely no luck. Blade bait way to go year round!
For me spybaits work better in September!

X-Nanahan is a very good bait, but if you had Livescope, you would see it dives six foot max unless trolled.
If I can get em on a MAGAbass jerkbait, I always use the jerkbait. Spybaits either work for me or they don't. They've done well when I get them deep in very pressured water and especially when it's infested with lake lice, spybaits have really caught em when nothing else could.
I've also noticed the 1/4 oz sizes work best. For some reason the 3/8 oz don't do well for me. The difference I think I'm making is that I'll actually add a 1/4 oz egg sinker ahead of a swivel with about 18" of leader. I usually don't get hit on the drop this way, but I do get consistent strikes when retrieving.
But I usually throw them as a last resort.

I literally just received my spybaits in the mail 😅. Ohhhh well, I'll see.
I've never owned or thrown a spy bait, and probably never will. Randy just get you a stunna jerk bait and you'll stop throwing mega bass and save a bunch of $$. Stunna will out catch mega bass 3-1 every time.
Randy everyone thinks I'm screwing with them, but I been Carolina rigging a Zman 2.75trd since spring and it's ridiculous how this set up slays bass and will all year I'm sure. I let it soak while I'm throwing something else. Lol

ME TOO!! caught a perch….Going to sell all mine this winter on ebay. My first clue should have been not seeing any live fishing videos with peeps fishing spybaits!

As a lure junkie, of course I have spy baits…They aren't cheap, either…..can't say I've used them enough to say either way…maybe a goal of mine this winter to catch 1 on it
Been eyeing the X-Nanahan, hoping there's a sale the next few weeks to get a few. Just sent Solar Bat an email asking for the specs RB3 vs the HP3. Ran across some at a fishing show at Indy. They are very nice, and as you've said, very clear. Hope they work out. Where is the buy one get one free special? TW has them at $109, SB wen site at $140.
