  1. Sounds like a shark to me, I had some drag pullers like you describe back in July on eels. The first one took off on an unstoppable run and my buddies who fish that spot kept saying it had to be mid to high 50lb class and I started shaking. Took me almost 200 yds out on the VSX200 and I lost it after close to 5 minutes of stalemate. My reel was steaming from the locked drag in cool water. The next week I came back with a heavier rod and heavier leader and didn't let them get away this time, turns out they were 5-7ft brown sharks. Unlike another commenter mentioned, these sharks were mixed in with low 30lb class fish because I landed a nice cow between the two big sharks I hooked that night. I think the sharks find a school of larger bass and shadow them in case they get an opportunity to pounce. This was south of you, but I'd imagine you could run into juvenile white sharks, makos, and porbeagles up by you. But let's agree that it was a foul hooked 60!

  2. I really wish you could be preaching the presentation of this style lure, not the brand. Do not get me wrong, NLBN is a nice wide-bodied plastic, but one of many wide-body options out there. Folks who understand when and where these types of lures are used, will be rewarded when they try an NLBN, but will be able to present it most effectively knowing the overarching concepts of how this 'type' of lure is used. Good story, sorry, just getting tired of what is happening here….education vs promotion.

  3. I will say I was skeptical at first with trying out the NLBN. However, once I gave them a try I was pleasantly surprised at how well they worked. They absolutely slay here in NJ particularly at inlet fishing. Countless 20-40 pound class fish in the spring and so far this fall since early October 30 pound class fish.. They sure work. Also how does that Century Weapon 9โ€™ foot work with these ? Am I wrong is saying the tip section of that rod is a bit soft working lures like jigs or other lures that have more drag through the water? I like the rods rating and feel it could be useful.

  4. Man Iโ€™m so curious about what it was. It must have been a shark. The comparison you made with the 50lbs running 20 yards with a VS150 would make no sense for a Stripper to run 150 yards with a VS200. Amazing story.

  5. Love the story but you can never say never my guess is that you will have that experience again but with success!! Keep positive my man.. Also the NLBN is super they hold up really well I had a dozen Stripers on the 5" to 30+ inches with no issue bait got a little rough but was intact however the 13th fish was a Blue so end of that bait lol..Keep the videos coming tight lines..

  6. I fish the 3/4oz jig head on the 5in from shore with 30# braid but the bait feels super heavy i wish they made 1/2oz or 3/8th oz jig head in the 5in model not the 3inch model
