Took me 6 hours of only throwing a mag draft to get bit on it! Was a 3.1 lb bass.
Thanks Randy .. Just love you videos. I caught my two biggest fish last spring on a giant swim bait. 9.8 and a 8.9. The best part is that my fishing buddy and neighbor was just ahead of me in his boat. So he got to come back to take the pics !
Do you have to throw it, or can you troll it? I kayak fish, I like to troll something big like that by trolling it behind my yak
I haven't caught one on it cause I'm not spending the money
Been using the 6" magdraft for the last 3 weeks and I have been wearing them out. Good Windy day. 👍
Because I don't want to use one ..same as an A rig. Dont care to ever throw them big ol baits made to trophy hunt. Get em on french fry just fine lol…Old school feeeshn…cranks finesse jerks tubes jigs spinnerbaits…u throw that…ill smoke you from Back of ur boat lol
Agree with almost everything with one caveat. I’ve done well with big wedge tail swimbaits (hudds, defiant, new savage gear) in late fall through early spring, NOT just on overcast days but in high sun, where the profile stands out above the fish high in the water column. Slow moving wedge tails are especially good at this time. There are multiple schools of thought here but I know there are other big swimbait experts with way more expertise and big fish under their belt who agree with this. Now wedge tails are also just a different bait than the mag draft so take that into consideration
Started fishing big baits as a Muskie fisherman. Caught most of my biggest bass fishing for Muskie.
I have never thrown that but I have recently bought two of the 6 inch Mag Drafts.
When we going fishing Randy???
I just bought a 6 inch magdraft looking forward to trying it sometime when I get the opportunity.
Which MB Magdraft colors are transluscent?
Swimbaits are just like any other bait. If you’re on actively feeding fish, they’ll eat a Swimbait. If not, you have to fish them like a jig. Also, throw the thing about not catching Swimbait fish under high pressure/bluebird skies out the window. Your absolute best chance at catching the fish of a lifetime is from 11-2pm with bright skies and high pressure. Those fish don’t “get out and roam”. They’re tucked in tight to their specific piece of structure/cover and can absolutely be caught.
Caught back to back 10s in March on the freestyle pearl color on a flashy swimmer.. magdraft is sick a great bait
Randy please do a video on the Megabass Vatalion last year that bait really put fish in the boat for me and gave me more confidence throwing larger baits
Wow those are big baits…I rarely go beyond 4.5.
Awesome video Randy! Your advice is always sound. I had to force myself to leave my other gear at home. People wouldn't believe how many 2-4 pounders will smash a big bait. I haven't caught a giant yet but im hooked on big swimbaits and big rats. Thanks for the video old bud. 🤙
Very informative. I still haven't tried the A.Martens scrounger rig you taught us. I'll start there and work my way up to this. Thanks Randy
Thanks Randy. Love you all. Have a great day 🙂
When i got my pb it was on a 10 inch 8 oz Huddleston in January. Nine trips with no bites. Then she smoked it from under a dock with 5 feet of line out. Worth it.
