The Spro Chad Shad is one of the poplular glide bait swimbait in bass fishing. But when anglers fish big swimbaits and big lures it usually means less fish. That doesn’t have to be the case though if you use a system with a follow up lure. In this video I show you how to fish a swimbait and then pick the best follow up lure when your Chad Shad doesn’t work.

😂😂make that kinda noise, it helps you catch more fish 🤣🤣. You too funny Mike Balzee 👍👍😂😂
Bro i laughed for at least 13 minutes when u said bonger luber because i had the captions on and it spelled it PERFECTLY 😂😂😂
Bro i used to have sunglasses JUST LIKE THAT but i lost them and idk where they went.
Absolutely! That's my follow up bait for a glidebait, however, I use a nallhead jighead with a Castaic jerky J in the 3 inch size, but same results. I also have a hover rig setup if I need even more subtle finesse to follow up depending on how the bass wants the presentation of a slower drop and pendulum. Either way is a great follow up.

What shades are you wearing
Part of appeal of throwing big swimbaits is not many people through them but I know Chad shad is a very popular mod sized bait. I have a baitsanity chimera on the water which is similar for size & action but I prefer bigger baits 8-10" is perfect in my opinion. Bigger baits have more drawing power.
Any soft plastics as a follow up bait usually works well exspecialy weightless, or a small swimbait. From my experience, If they follow it once & don't commit. Don't throw that same big swimbait again from the same spot. You could try a different casting angle. But I would recommend coming back later & trying that different angle. If you throw it more than once & they follow & don't commit, I think you just basically ruined chances of them biting that particular big swimbait! So come back & approach from a different angle & or throw a different big swimbait or just throw a small soft plastic… my 5 biggest largmouth for this summer on big swimbaits is 8.05 – 8.6 – 9.3 – 11.4 which is my current PB!
Great vid! Thanks for sharing! More swimsuit girl please!
The sounds get you the pounds y’all! Dit dit dit! 😂great stuff in this one Balzz🎣
Bonger Luber!

Been dead shallow in taylor creek, and using s waver, and following it up w nikko helgramites on a weedless bulletz zman hook .or the balsa rapala.silent and deadly.
Lol what’s with chad over there
You should try the sly guy replica Shad in chrometreuse color same process you use for the Chad I put grenade weights on it let it sink down to the desired depth I like to start with a jerk bait first, and then I’ll hit them with something bigger ones I’m on a pretty good school sweet vid thinks for taking the time to make the vids love the vibes and energy bro
the tail on the Chad shad is garbage. good bait, but they fucked up on the tail imo.
Nice hat bro. When are you coming back to Lanier for some giant spots?
I need you to try one of those cry Beach I would love to see what it looks like in the water where I am
was 10secs in and he said no fishing with bog today, damn near exited out of the video. 🙂
Again another great video, thanks!!
I have seen you use both now but what are the differences and your preferences between the Spro Chad Shad and the Baitsanity Chimera shad?
If they show themselves and don't commit to the glide for me, I throw them a 2.8 swimbait, and they commit almost everytime. Fishing the extremes.
Great video! This technique is usually used by the pros when they get a follow without a take but, obviously, it works great when you have the technology to see what’s happening with your Lowrance. There are a couple of other ways to achieve the same end. 1.) Follow up your Swimbait with a Tandem Rig of two minnows (I like hair jigs or a Spro 2” micro Shad bait instead but that’s user preference) instead of one. 2.) After your initial cast of your Swimbait , follow it up with a Teaser Rig (again I prefer a hair jig or 4” Spro Shad is my preference) in front of your Swimbait; put your minnow Teaser rig (your preference, as already described) 4-6 “ out in front of your Swimbait on your F/C leader, work your presentation slightly more aggressively similar to a Jerk bait. I’ve discovered that usually you’ll pull at least one of the smaller bass from the pack and sometimes the Alpha bass and a smaller bass from the pack on both presentations. Hope this helps you!
I use the weightless flush for my follow up bait and the magdraft…
You Bad!!!
I wish they were selling spro with these glasses…😂
Interesting. My follow-up date after say I throw a 6-in swim bait. Is I go to a swim jig in the same color. That seems to work very well
