I don't use weights when I drop shot. Shoe strings make the best leader, and I don't set the hook.. moon currents do it for me.
I’ve never used a drop shot but a local guide at the lake I fish says to try it. I’m going to tie it on and try it tomorrow. Let’s go smallies.

Thats the worst knot for drop shot, just male a loop and spin it
My favorite technique with my go-to soft plastic. I use 6-8lb fluro leader, size 1 Owner drop shot hook and the lightest weight the wind will let me use. Usually ³/¹⁶ or ¼oz tungsten tear drop. If you are worried about tying the correct knot just buy the VMC Spin Shot hooks that let you tie a separate tag end for your weights.

Never realized this was the main use for them. Always just threw them on a snap swivel to get some extra distance while fishing for whatever would bite on the local channel. easy to change out if you need more or less weight
I fish my finesse stuff on a medium light spinning rod with 12 pound fluorocarbon most of the time, the times I’m not using my finesse combo I use a medium heavy baitcaster with 17-20 pound fluro.
Multiple hooks with live bait is deadly for crappie hanging out in the thermal clines
A uni-knot is the best for drop shot as it holds the hook snuk up and down from both sides of the eye of the hook.

All of your vids are great but you kill at these youtube shorts. You speak fast but clearly and relay a lot of info in a short amount of time.
Great rig but terrible hook. U will lose alot of fish on that type of hook, use a straight shank hook instead. U will land way more fish
