Bass Fishing Lake McClure California May 1st 2023

Fished Lake McClure for only the 3rd time ever. I tried to launch out of Bagby, but the water level is too low, and that area is basically the Merced River flowing at a very high rate. Instead, I headed to Horseshoe Bend and was able to launch there. I ended the day with 2 Largemouth and 12 Spots. The size range was 12-18 inches. Next trip, I will try Barrett Cove or McClure Point and see how that area fishes. If anybody has been to those areas, please let me know what you think.

  1. I’ve been out here for the weekend, mostly bank fishing. I have tried drop shots, wacky rigs, Texas rigged artificial craws, all with no hits. but I’m about to hit the water in a little while with a paddle tail and a spinner like yours. If I could even get one I would be grateful, this is my first time fishing here so it’s reassuring to see you having a great day only 5 days before this.

  2. Thanks for this video and all the other ones. I do watch him this is probably the third time I've seen this. I have a tournament in a couple weeks up there. It looks like a good place to put in at that horseshoe bend do you recommend that I have a kayak on a trailer?

  3. Great Videos Barry! Although I would recommend adding more unique or descriptive titles to your videos. All of the videos on your channel are generically titled "Bass Fishing", at least add the date or location to the title as well. As a viewer its hard to navigate your channel when all of your videos have the exact same name.
