Fishing for Largemouth Bass in Portugal – Here’s What Happened
In this session, I went out chasing my first-ever largemouth bass in Portugal — but things didn’t go quite as planned…
After spotting a few baby bass around the marina, I decided to explore the main river in search of bigger fish. It’s the second biggest river in the country, so I had high hopes! The setting was incredible, and just seeing bass cruising around had me buzzing. I might’ve slightly lost it on camera 😅
Despite a couple of bites and some gear limitations, I didn’t manage to land a bass — but I did end up catching a surprise zander, which made the session worth it. It’s only my third one ever, and catching it on a massive river I was fishing for the first time felt like a win.
I was on a short trip with very limited time, and this was my only freshwater session. The rest of the days I spent sea bass fishing with my dad — and as much as I wanted that largemouth, I wouldn’t trade that time for anything.
More fish-heavy sessions are coming soon, so stay tuned and thanks as always for the support! 🎣
