Huge Bass at Sasamat Lake π£ Where are The Pink Salmon in The Fraser River?!

What a wild day of fishing! Sasamat Lake is absolutely on fire right now with bass all along the shoreline. After weeks of grinding, I finally landed my very first hog largemouth bass at Sasamat β and it was worth the wait! π£π₯
I was running my Ugly Stik Shakespeare Elite (medium power) paired with a Shimano SLX baitcaster, spooled with 15lb braid + 10lb fluorocarbon leader, rigged with a weighted EWG hook and a gold/black paddle tail. That setup finally paid off with my personal best largemouth! On top of that, I met a friendly fan who gifted me a black Ned rig thatβs been producing really well for him β much appreciated!
Meanwhile, over at the Fraser River (as of August 20th), things have been pretty abysmalβ¦ I spotted a few risers that looked like pink salmon, but the numbers are super low and I couldnβt get a single bite in the tidal portion. I was throwing a chartreuse spinner and a Danielson pink spoon on a medium power rod with the shimano trigger reel with 20lb braid. If anyone has tips for targeting pinks, Iβd love the help β Iβve never caught one before π .
All in all, it was an unforgettable trip: non-stop small bass action, my first big hog at Sasamat, and still chasing that first pink at the Fraser.
