22 Bass, No Keepers! Fall Fishing at Lake of the Ozarks | October 30, 2026

Billy and I caught 22 bass at Lake of the Ozarks, but couldn’t find a keeper! We spent 5½ hours fishing banks, docks, and just off the bank after launching at Larry Gale.

A white/pearl swimbait led the way with nine bass—all around boat docks. Our 5-inch worms added another 13 fish, bringing the day’s total catch weight to 15.6 pounds. We found some action, but the bigger fish stayed out of reach.

🎣 TRIP CONDITIONS & RESULTS
• Date: October 30, 2026
• Location: Lake of the Ozarks — Larry Gale
• Anglers: Mark and Billy
• Time on the water: 8:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m.
• Duration: 5 hours, 30 minutes
• Water temperature: 70°F
• Air temperature: 56–80°F
• Sky: Cloudy
• Wind: Breeze
• Water: Stained
• Total bass: 22
• Keepers: 0
• Total catch weight: 15.6 pounds
• Biggest bass: Billy’s 1.37-pound fish

🎣 WHAT WORKED
• White/pearl swimbait: 9 bass, all around boat docks.
• 5-inch dark green pumpkin/amber worm: 7 bass—four off the bank, two along banks, and one around a dock.
• 5-inch PBJ worm: 6 bass—five along banks and one around a dock.

Boat docks produced 11 bass, banks accounted for seven, and another four came about 20 feet off the bank.

🎣 HOW THE DAY UNFOLDED
Billy started us off at 8:58 a.m. with a bass along the bank on a PBJ worm. His next fish came at 11:09 a.m.—a 1.37-pound bass on the dark green pumpkin/amber worm that turned out to be our biggest of the day.

After that long gap, the catches came more regularly. Between 11:12 and 11:29, we caught four bass about 20 feet off the bank on the dark green pumpkin/amber worm. Both worm colors continued producing around banks and docks through midday.

The white/pearl swimbait picked up its first bass at 12:35 p.m. and accounted for nine dock fish by 1:18 p.m. Billy and I both caught fish at 12:57, including his 1.27-pound bass.

Billy finished the day at 1:30 p.m. with one more bank fish on the PBJ worm. Twenty-two bass in the boat, but no keepers—a reminder that getting bites and finding size don’t always go together!
