A bass fisherman heads to the beach for only his second surf fishing trip ever, with big baits and one promise: catch a beach monster. Day one brings wind, toppled cameras, a gang of seagulls and zero fish. Day two, he changes almost everything.

We retell the story with our own narration and add context: what a bull red is, what scientists learned about gulls and human eyes, why circle hooks set themselves, and the surprising life of the black sea bass.
