I finally get the hype around El Dorado Lake! After a rough first trip and a much better second chance thanks to your advice, I headed up to Cole Creek on the north side of the lake—and hooked into a FIVE-POUND largemouth bass!

Getting the kayak down to the creek was sketchy, and the adventure started before I even touched the water. But this trip gave me a whole new reason to appreciate a lake I was ready to write off just a few days ago.

From “this place sucks” to “I was wrong” to “I GET IT NOW.” 😂 Thank you to everyone who encouraged me to keep trying, shared advice, and followed along. This is why I keep getting outside and seeing what’s around the next bend.
