Real Sandeel vs Plastic Sandeel Lure: Bass Fishing Cumbria!
We are back at Beckfoot beach on the Solway coast, right after last week’s success, putting two classic bass methods to the ultimate head-to-head test: Real Sandeels vs Soft Plastic Sandeels!
Arriving at first light, I set up for a session fishing the last half hour of the flood tide and working two hours of the ebb. Out on the big rod, I launched a pulley pennel rig armed with real sandeels. I then ventured into the Solway Firth waist-deep in the pounding surf with the 6ft rod, I was actively working the Candy King Sidewinder lure through the rough water and heavy weed.
It was a wild, action-packed morning battling the elements, heavy surf, and relentless coastal tides in search of silver bass!
