Aggressive Smallmouth Bass & More on Offshore Rock | Ely, Minnesota Fishing

Fishing near Ely, Minnesota, and finding aggressive smallmouth bass schooled up and feeding on offshore rock structure!

In this video, I spend some time fishing offshore rocks and targeting smallmouth bass that are actively feeding on baitfish. Some of these fish are chasing bait right to the surface, making for some exciting fishing action.

This is a more raw, in-the-moment fishing video with no voice-over intro or outro. Instead, I take you along for the day as I fish, explain techniques while I’m using them, and work through different ways to get bites from these aggressive smallmouth.

I catch fish using several different techniques, including a jerkbait, Berkley Choppo, and Ned rig. I even get a bite on the jerkbait before I can finish explaining everything I’m doing with it!

Along with the smallmouth bass, I also catch a couple of eater-sized walleye while fishing the same offshore rock structure.
