Labor day weekend smallmouth fishing in Wisconsin!

Labor Day weekend was upon us so I decided to head north and target some smallmouth bass! I was super excited to get out there and fish for 3 days. I caught a really nice one to start the morning off, didn’t even take a whole 10 minutes. So that had me thinking I was going to put a beating on them. Hahaha welllllll it turned out to be a bit of a struggle. I managed a couple nice ones but the rest were dinks. It was hard to get a bite out there, the rivers were low and it has me thinking that it pushed the bass to deeper pools of the river. Which, with me being only on foot. It was hard to get to those spots. Regardless of the outcome it felt great to be able to just explore and fish all weekend. I have some time off from work coming up, and with the temperatures in northern Wisconsin cooling off a bit in the near future. I’m hoping it has the bass fired up.
