The Drop Shot Setup That Shouldn’t Work

I headed out for some early morning drop shot fishing on Lady Bird Lake in Austin, Texas, and decided to try something that probably looks a little ridiculous, a 10.5″ worm on a drop shot.

The lake was tough, it’s mid-August (so it’s hot), and it’s a pressured lakeI… there were plenty of catches, missed opportunities, lost worms, and even managed to lose my slip weight. But after experimenting with the setup and making a few adjustments, that oversized worm started producing fish.

This isn’t a step-by-step drop shot fishing tutorial. It’s a real fishing trip showing what worked, what didn’t, and how I adjusted my setup along the way.

In this video, I take you along for the fishing adventure and show what happened when I tried a drop shot setup that probably shouldn’t work.
