Bass Fishing Private Pond and Catching Unexpected Giant Fish

Once In a lifetime catch in a small private Midwest pond. I was fishing for some largemouth bass when I got hooked up on what I thought to be one of the 3-5 pound bass in the pond but little did I know that I was hooked on a 6 pound striped bass which I have never caught in my life let alone this pond. I’ve only seen a few in this pond but in the few years I’ve fished it they have never hit and whenever I see them they swim away to never be seen again. Little did I know they hit top water.
