Another productive day bass fishing at **Castaic Lagoon** on August 14, 2026. I finished the day with **6 bass**, with the C3 Baits SlimPro Oxblood continuing to produce.

I caught **5 bass drop shotting the C3 Baits SlimPro Oxblood** and picked up another fish on a **weightless Fat Ika** fished on a casting setup with a size 2 hook.

One of the biggest things I noticed today was the amount of fish activity around the **west side dock**. I could see quite a few fish in that area, making it one of the more interesting spots I found during the day.

The moon was just coming off the **August 12 new moon**, with only about **6% illumination** today.

The **C3 Baits SlimPro Oxblood continues to be the most consistent bait for me at Castaic Lagoon**, producing five of the six fish today. The weightless Fat Ika also picked up a fish and gave me another option when I wanted to change presentations.

I’ll continue documenting what works—and what doesn’t—at Castaic Lagoon throughout the season so we can see how the bite changes with water temperature, weather, moon phase and seasonal conditions.
