DESERT LAKE FISHING! Bass, Pike & a Beautiful Ontario Lake Near Kingston

Today we’re heading out on Desert Lake, just north of Kingston, Ontario, for a day of fishing, boating and exploring one of Eastern Ontario’s beautiful Canadian Shield lakes.

Desert Lake is surrounded by forests, rocky shorelines and plenty of quiet little bays that are just begging to be explored. We launched the boat, headed out onto the lake and started looking for some of the fish that call these waters home — including bass, pike and lake trout.

But as much as I love fishing, one of the best things about having a boat is simply getting out on the water and seeing where the day takes you.

The morning started out beautifully with calm water and some incredible scenery. We explored the shoreline, fished some promising-looking areas and, of course, managed to get a few fish interested in what we were throwing.

And that’s really what I enjoy about days like this. You don’t always need to catch a monster fish to have a great day. Sometimes it’s the lake itself, the scenery, the wildlife, the boat ride and just being outdoors that make the day worthwhile.

So come along with me as I spend the day fishing and exploring Desert Lake near Kingston, Ontario.

Let’s see what we can catch!
