Had a good day bass fishing at **Castaic Lagoon** on August 7, 2026. I caught a handful of bass, including **two fish over 2 lbs**, with every fish coming on the same setup: a **C3 Baits SlimPro Oxblood worm on a drop shot**.

The productive area was the **rocky point**, specifically working the transition between the **weeds and rocks**. There were fry everywhere, and the water temperature was around **82°F**.

I tried several other baits throughout the day without any luck, including an **urchin, topwater popper, frog, crankbait, and Senko**. The drop shot was the clear winner.
