Jacob Wheeler came in hot and stayed hot as the majority of the field struggled to find their footing on Lake Erie. By the end of Period 1, a 13-pound total was all it took to stay above the Lucas Oil Cut Line but Wheeler was leading the pack with 57 pounds to his name. Letting off the gas to scout new water for tomorrow, he maintained his lead to finish No. 1 with 70-11 on 25 scorable bass. Although Wheeler won the round, Zack Birge won the year by placing fourth to claim the Fishing Clash Angler of the Year title.

Meanwhile, the cut line was a tight one for the majority of the day with several anglers one or two scorable bass away from jumping into the top nine. Ultimately, Ott DeFoe found himself on the cut line for the third day in a row – claiming the final seat in the Championship Round by a margin of 4 ounces with 42-7 on 12 scorable bass.

Stage 7 action concludes tomorrow with the Top 10 anglers returning to Lake Erie for the Championship Round on the MLFNOW! livestream at MajorLeagueFishing.com, the MyOutdoorTV (MOTV) app, and Rumble at 7:30 a.m. ET.
