Croton Reservoir Bass Fishing with My Sons… Rain, Worms, and Bloopers**
Family fishing trip with my two sons (Orion, age 14, and Logan age 13 at Croton Reservoir! 🎣
Today we tried bass fishing—and it was a new spot for us.
We start off by grabbing snacks and worms at the store, then we fast travel to our bank fishing spot. Right away we notice something unusual: there’s a huge dead bass on the bank. We’re confused and ask other YouTubers what they think happened—while also learning an important takeaway: there are bass here, which is exactly why we came to New Croton Reservoir.
Orion kept catching baby bass over and over (the action never really stopped), and I also teach the boys how to tie a hook. Of course there are bloopers and silly moments—plus we see a snake (and it keeps showing up like it’s following us 😳).
We also talk about invasive species in the area and why there are so many boats parked along the bank—because they want to keep invasive species out. It seriously made me want to get a boat!
Then it starts raining, but we stick with it and keep fishing until the end of the day. We didn’t end up landing big bass, but we did catch three baby bass—and we finish the day the best way: fish and chips for a celebration meal.
