Kankakee River Smallmouth Bass on Spinnerbaits! (And a 4.5lb Monster surprise!!!)

We are hitting the beautiful Kankakee River today to target aggressive river smallmouth bass using one of my absolute favorite search baits—the spinnerbait! River smallies are known for their incredible fight, and they did not disappoint on this trip.

I managed to find a great rhythm and land some beautiful fish, including a thick, hard-fighting 16 3/4 inch smallmouth bass that absolutely crushed the blade.
