I Left Bass Fishing Behind for a Day

Most of you know me as a bass fisherman, but every once in a while I get the chance to put the bass rods down and head back to the Texas coast.

This trip was all about chasing redfish and speckled trout out of Sargent, Texas. The plan changed before we ever made our first cast, the water was dirtier than we hoped, and we definitely didn’t just wear the trout out… but honestly, that wasn’t really the point.

We caught fish, laughed a bunch, had awesome weather, and spent the day chasing a few of my favorite fish with good friends.

Nothing crazy. Just a good day on the water.

And I’ll take that every time.
