Event: Bassmaster Elite Series – Pasquotank River Day 4

One of the most incredible flurries I’ve ever experienced in a tournament happened on the final day of the Bassmaster Elite at the Pasquotank River.

After fishing a brush pile all week without getting a bite, I pulled up late in the day needing something special to have a chance. The only bait I could get them to react to was the 8” Berkley Chop Block in Burnt Bone.

What happened next was unreal.

In just 15 minutes, I caught three giant largemouth bass from the same brush pile and upgraded from 19 pounds to over 30 pounds. I wasn’t thinking about winning in that moment—I was thinking about how quickly a tournament can change. In a matter of minutes, I went from having a solid event to being right in the hunt.

Moments like these are why we compete.
