Lake of the Ozarks Bass Fishing – 6 Jul 2026 | Fishing report
We fished Lake of the Ozarks near Shawnee Bend on 6 July 2026 and had a solid summer numbers day.
This trip came just two days after a bad storm hit Lake of the Ozarks on 4 July. On the way to the lake and while we were out on the water, we could see a lot of storm damage around the area, mostly trees knocked down near homes, docks, and along the shoreline. Out thoughts and prays for those impacted my the storm.
Fishing conditions were warm and fairly calm. We were on the water from 0609 to 1350, with water temperature around 84 degrees, air temperature ranging from 68 to 86, partly cloudy skies, light north wind, and stained water.
Overall, we caught 34 fish for 29.8 pounds total, with 3 keepers. It was not a giant-fish day, but the bite was steady enough to keep us busy most of the trip.
The main pattern was the white swimbait. It produced 25 of the 34 fish and all 3 keepers. We caught fish with it around banks, boat docks, and breakwater. The bank produced the most total bites with 15 fish, followed by boat docks with 10, and breakwater with 9.
A few other baits caught fish early, including a PBJ 5-inch worm, green pumpkin Brush Hog, orange/brown crankbait, and a Sexy Shad popper, but once the white swimbait bite showed itself, that became the main deal.
This was a good summer Lake of the Ozarks fishing report: lots of bites, stained water, warm water, visible storm damage from the July 4th storm, and a swimbait pattern that stayed productive across multiple types of shoreline cover.
