Found Them — But Not Where I Expected

Took the drop nets to a location I hadn’t tried before — one that’s completely dry for most of the day depending on the tide. Not an obvious choice, but it paid off.

Came away with 25 to 30 quality prawns, which is exactly what I needed for Bass bait.

The method is the same drop net approach I’ve covered previously on the channel, just a new mark worth adding to the rotation.

If you’re sourcing live bait on the south coast, it’s worth thinking beyond the obvious spots. The prawns were there when the water was.
