What happens when the goal of a bass tournament is to remove as many invasive fish as possible?
In this Hardcore Kayak Fishing Club Spot Remover Tournament, the mission was simple: catch and remove invasive Alabama Bass from Lake Wylie. Unlike a traditional bass tournament, every Alabama Bass we caught helped reduce pressure on the lake’s native largemouth population.
The winner was determined by the largest combined weigh-in of Alabama Bass and bream, making for a fun and unique conservation-focused competition. Even better, none of the fish went to waste. Every fish weighed in was donated to the Carolina Raptor Center, where they’ll help feed the birds of prey in their care.
