After-work fishing at Lake Perris turned into another solid session, but not where I expected it.

For the last several weeks I’ve had consistent success on the East Bank, but lately that bite seems to have disappeared for me. After struggling to get bit in areas that have been productive, I decided to make a move and focus on the flooded brush along the South Bank.

That adjustment paid off.

The fish were holding tight to the flooded cover, and the action stayed steady throughout the afternoon. I ended up landing 10 bass and lost 2 more while working through the brush. The new custom soft plastics continue to produce, and this trip provided another clue about where the fish may be positioning as conditions continue to change around the lake.
