Encountering Fish and Wombats at Wombat Dam

It was a grey Sunday afternoon and the conditions weren’t great for kayaking, so it was off to Wombat Dam near Daylesford for a dose of land based fishing. The mission was to enjoy a few hours in the stunning scenery of this reservoir nestled in the Wombat State Forest and to see if I could improve on my reasonably modest returns from the few previous times I’d fished there. By the end of the trip, there were some fish catches and (perhaps unsurprisingly) even a few wombat sightings.
