We’re officially kicking off the Sizzling Summer Showdown Tournament with the Captain’s Meeting! In this episode, we’ll go over the full tournament rules, payout structure, registration details, fish submission requirements, eligible species, measuring board guidelines, and answer questions so every angler is ready to compete.

The Sizzling Summer Showdown is open to active Weekend Warrior, Hall of Fame, or grandfathered Fishing the DMV Patreon Club Members.

🎣 Entry Fee: $50
📅 Tournament Starts: Saturday, June 13th at 6:00 AM
🏁 Tournament Ends: Sunday, August 1st at 11:59 PM
⏰ Last Day to Register: Friday, June 19th

All fish must be caught during the official tournament window.

Eligible species include Largemouth Bass and Smallmouth Bass, with anglers competing in two divisions:

• Smallmouth Only Division
• Mixed Bag / Largemouth Division

This is a public water, public access tournament. Anglers may compete from a boat, jet boat, kayak, canoe, bank, or just about anything that legally gets you on the water. No private ponds or private-access waters allowed.

Competitors must have a valid fishing license for the waters they are fishing. Your best 8 bass will count toward your total length.

Tournament password and Fish ID number will be posted inside the Patreon app for eligible members.

Recommended measuring boards include Ketch, YakGear, and YakAttack-style bump boards. Please use a board with clear visible markings to make judging fish easier.
