1 Year Ago I'd Never Fished. Now I'm Out-Fishing My Son
In this video, we’re back at Harrison Bay on Chickamauga Lake — the same spot in Chattanooga, Tennessee where we started this channel one year ago. I was 34 years old. Never fished a day in my life before Brooks and I picked up a rod and turned the camera on. One year later I’m the one on a run, catching everything in sight, and Brooks is telling me I took his spot. The storm rolls in before we’re ready to quit. Brooks says no. It starts raining. We go.
We worked the bank at Harrison Bay with worms, both sides of the point. First fish came up small — Brooks held it like a trophy anyway. Then I got on a run. Big bass, a 1.5 pounder that fought all the way to the bank at Chickamauga Lake. Then the golden shad — female, beautiful, something I didn’t know lived in these waters. Brooks loses one. I catch another. He keeps saying I’m in his spot. We weigh the big one. One and a half pounds. Not bad for a guy who’d never held a rod a year ago.
Storm built on the tree line over Chickamauga Lake and we called it. Back at the truck I told the camera what I’d been thinking all session — I still can’t believe I’m doing this. One year of YouTube. One year of fishing with my son at Harrison Bay. Started behind the camera. Now here I am.
