Big Smallmouth DESTROYS My Wake Bait

I headed out to the Little Miami River to test a new wake bait for river smallmouth… and honestly, conditions looked PERFECT.

Good flow, solid water levels, slight overcast skies, and that early morning feeling where you just know the topwater bite could be special.

Only problem?

I got all the way to the river and realized I forgot part of my kayak setup back at home… so the day started with an unexpected road trip before I could even make a cast.

Once I finally got on the water, it was time to see if this wake bait could actually get the attention of some river smallies.
