Kayak Bass Fishing Tournament Event #2 WTBY
Lake Halford kayak bass fishing tournament recap 🎣 | Old Town AutoPilot 136 | Berkley Stunna jerkbait | frog fishing | bass fishing video
Started the day on this 1,000-acre lake with a solid plan—and it paid off. Fish were busting right at daylight, so while most of the field ran off from the ramp, I stayed put and took advantage of the early bite. Managed to put one in the kayak quick doing that, which set the tone.
Once the boat tournament traffic picked up, it absolutely tore up that area and shut things down. Instead of forcing it, I made the move and started covering water. That adjustment made all the difference.
Mixed it up with the Berkley Stunna jerkbait and some frog fishing to stay versatile as conditions changed. Ended up putting together a full limit and closed the day with 48.5”. This put me in 16th place out of 22 anglers which is certainly not where I would want to finish but I need the small win of getting a limit. Proud of how I did mentally because sometimes the mental game is what gets the best of me.
Not a bad grind after a chaotic start—sometimes staying put early and then knowing when to move is everything.
Who else is making those mid-day adjustments when the pressure hits? 👀🎣
