Don Pedro Late Winter Bass Fishing Mission (March 2026)
Went car camping again for 2 nights and 2.5ish days chasing some early spring bass. I came in with INSANE expectations thinking the fish would be moving up and feeding hard… but they were still pretty stingy.
I ended up scratching out about 9 fish in 3 days.. Not exactly a slay fest.
I spent a lot of time throwing swimbaits looking for a big bite, but the fish just weren’t committing. As soon as I picked up the Ned rig, though, I could usually get a bite.
Overall it was still an awesome weekend being out on the water, camping, and figuring things out—even if nothing giant showed up. Sometimes that’s just how fishing goes.
If you like bass fishing, camping trips, and figuring out tough bites, you’ll probably enjoy this one.
