Most Anglers Fish a Neko Rig Too Small
In this video, we’re testing a Japanese-style Power Neko Rig with the DEPS Rebound Stick 5-inch on baitcasting tackle. Most anglers think of the Neko rig as a finesse setup with spinning gear, light line, and a smaller worm, but this version goes in the opposite direction. With a bulky worm, 16 lb fluorocarbon, and a medium-heavy rod, this setup pushes more water, creates a stronger presence, and helps bass find the bait. We’ll look at the rig, tackle, hook choice, and how to fish it near the bottom with a more aggressive action while still keeping contact with the lake floor.
If you enjoy JDM tackle, Japanese bass fishing techniques, and practical bank fishing tips that work in the U.S., this one is for you.
