Lake of the Ozarks Bass Fishing – 8 Mar 2026 | Fishing report
We spent a Sunday afternoon fishing Lake of the Ozarks out of Shawnee Bend looking for early pre-spawn bass.
Conditions were starting to improve with water temperatures around 48–50 degrees, sunny skies, and a south wind around 8 mph with gusts to 16. That wind set up some good opportunities on wind-blown banks across from the launch.
We started the day fishing a main lake point with an A-rig and jig, but didn’t get any bites there.
Once we moved into a nearby cove and started working the wave breaks and dock lines with a jerkbait, the fish started biting.
The Megabass Vision 110 jerkbait in Pro Blue was the bait of the day.
We ended up catching 17 bass with 6 keepers, and the best five fish weighed 9 pounds.
Most of the action came mid-afternoon along wind-blown banks, which is pretty typical for early spring when bass are staging before moving into spawning areas.
