We had been fishing the Colorado River system for several weeks leading up to this event, but with it being an early spring tournament, many variables were in play. Seasonal transitions, changing water temperatures, and shifting fish positioning meant that scouting the fishery the day before was absolutely critical.
To make things even more challenging, a sizable storm rolled through just before practice day creating even more uncertainty. We had our work cut out for us and needed to dial in exactly where the bass were positioned if we wanted a real shot at doing well.
