New 2026 Sage Power R8 on the California Delta !

We recently had the chance to head out to the California Delta for a few days of fishing with the crew from Sage Fly Fishing and test out the NEW Sage R8 Power!

The Delta is such a unique fishery—one minute you’re Launching streamers for Striped Bass in the main channels, and the next you’re tossing poppers into the tules for Largemouth. It’s a massive playground, and having the dudes from Sage show us around his home turf made for a great trip.

While we were on the water, we got our hands on the new Sage R8 Power. We weren’t doing a formal boardroom review; we just wanted to see how it felt in a real-world setting where you’re constantly switching between heavy sinking lines and big, wind-resistant bass bugs. It’s a fast rod with a lot of backbone, which definitely came in handy when the Delta wind decided to show up.
